Spring is officially here which means the Easter holidays are just around the corner. It is finally time to put winter coats back in the wardrobe and start planning activities in the sun for Easter 2019. After the cold winter months, everyone is excited to get out of the house and feel the warm sun rays. However, if you have children the question arises…how to entertain them during the school holidays? Why not spend Easter this year differently? Stop by The Royal Pavilion for afternoon tea and some entertainment, soak up some history at the Pier Museum or spend some time watching families learn to fish from the pier. An Easter without the usual Easter egg hunt? Southend Pier’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt is being held from 19 to 22 April. Head down to the pier to search for the Easter bunny and his hidden egg pictures over Easter weekend! We bet your children will love it!

Another perfect spot for families is the Adventure Island theme park situated right on the beach, making it perfect for a day out. There are rides for all ages and it is open every day over the Easter holiday. In addition, MFA Fantasy Park is Southend’s newest family entertainment complex set within the iconic Kursaal building on Eastern Esplanade.

Worried about the weather? There are many indoor activities such as the planetarium, priory, and gallery. Also, Southend museums have five historical sites in the heart of Southend with lots for curious minds to explore. Furthermore, any nature loving kids shouldn’t miss the Sealife Adventure Aquarium as it’s the South East’s premier aquatic attraction with over 40 unique displays featuring sea life from all over the world. Lastly, the Adventure Inside, Southend’s No.1 Family Indoor Fun Centre is a great idea for a day out.
