As the students move out, Event Essex moves in.
The changeover happens fast, but it never feels rushed. One week the campus belongs to its usual residents. The next, language schools, conferences and summer programmes arrive to fill every space we can find, and Colchester campus settles into a whole new summer rhythm.
On the 1st July, we start off with 1,000 language school students arriving into South Courts accommodation, with a full changeover again in mid-July. A further 300 arrive at the Copse, and another 300 at the Pastures. Down in University Square at our Southend Campus around 60 young people join us for what will be the very last group hosted there.
Every guest needs feeding. Every guest needs somewhere to learn, to play, to simply be. So we adapt, the way we always do. Lecture theatres become conference halls. Dining rooms become mess halls for over a thousand. Student accommodation becomes a home for guests who have travelled from across the world to be here. Event Essex does not simply host events. We shape the spaces around them, so every experience feels designed with intention, not slotted into whatever happens to be available.
Graduation Week is now fast approaching. Three celebratory receptions , running on the same day, each welcoming up to 1,000 guests. We dress and staff every reception as though it is the only one that matters, because for the family inside it, it is. Then we do it again, for the next family, an hour later.
This is how events come together at Event Essex, and summer is when we are at our best. Whether it is your first time working with us or you are coming back for another season, we would love to welcome you.
