Our landmark building champions sustainable design and offers an innovative setting for your event. Step into a beautifully crafted environment that features zero carbon technology, an interior winter garden and a serene cafe. A large foyer area overlooks the interior winter garden and is ideal for registrations, refreshments or exhibitions. Choose from one of five flexible lecture theatres, ideal conference venues, and enjoy state-of-the-art teaching technologies, such as interactive projectors, widescreen monitors, digital document cameras and audio lecture recording capabilities.
EBS Building lecture theatres range from 60 – 250 guests in capacity.
Colchester • Ideal for exhibitions, dinners and receptions
The Hexagon, one of the iconic buildings built at the birth of the University in 1964, is located at the heart of our Colchester campus. Having recently undergone renovation, The Hexagon offers an unusual and unique space that is ideal for hosting small exhibitions or evening receptions and dinners.
The Hexagon is suitable for a maximum of 100 guests.
The Forum Lecture Theatre, Southend-on-Sea

The Lecture Theatre offers the latest in IT and AV technology, and provides a versatile adjoining space suitable for a reception or for use as a refreshment space.
The Forum Lecture Theatre has a fixed maximum capacity of 200 guests.
The Ivor Crewe
Colchester • Ideal conference venue or for meetings, exhibitions and gala dinners
The Ivor Crewe Lecture Hall is an extremely flexible space and an ideal venue for exhibitions and conferences alike. With retractable seating, this venue is ideal for larger conferences that require a conference room and exhibition/refreshment space located together. Its flexible nature means that the room can accommodate a variety of layouts, including: lecture theatre; cabaret style; exhibition space; or flat floor space. The upper foyer area is also suitable for catering and delegate registration and has stunning views overlooking the lakes and parkland.
The Ivor Crewe building comprises of two lecture theatres, each with flexible seating for 500 guests, or one large conference venue seating 1000 guests.
