You may have spent some time wondering about the presence of Event Essex on campus, about who we are and what we do. Well, let us introduce ourselves!
We are a dedicated conference and events service who work right here on the University of Essex Colchester campus. We host events you’d recognise, like graduation or University of Essex Choir performances as well as provide spaces for commercial hire, and short-term accommodation for colleagues, students, and guests who’ll share our campus.
Whether you’re planning a research symposium society gathering, company training day, or major conference, Event Essex works closely with organisers to deliver smooth, professional events. Our team offers personalised event management, including a dedicated account manager to guide planning and logistics from start to finish. We’re proud of our ability to provide solutions for any issues you may find when hosting events on campus.
For staff, that means a reliable partner for academic conferences and collaborations, where we can facilitate spaces for up to a thousand people at a time around our amazing campus.
For students, it means support for graduation ceremonies, health and safety events and providing services like Essex Essentials. Essex Essentials is our one-stop shop to help you make your time at university hassle free, where you can purchase kitchen, bedding, and electrical packs before you arrive.
We also have our short stay accommodation available with additional discounts for staff and students, meaning that visiting speakers, or anyone sick of the commute can stay with us. Of course, this can be utilised for graduation accommodation if family and friends are visiting from far and wide, and we can facilitate bookings for groups, supporting internal events and activities throughout the year.
You may also see our commercial events that occur throughout the year; In addition to supporting student life, we provide space to host language schools (we saw over 2300 young people attend international language schools last summer alone), religious groups, sporting events and large-scale conferences like the annual Beth Chatto Symposium.
