Southend Pier

Just a three-minute walk from our Event Essex accommodation and meeting spaces is the world’s longest pleasure pier. Stop by The Royal Pavilion for afternoon tea and some entertainment, soak up some history at the Pier Museum or spend a few hours fishing from the pier edge.

Adventure Island

Explore over 40 rides and attractions at this free-admission amusement park, which has recently been awarded the 2015 certificate for excellence. With attractions for the little ones and white-knuckle rides for the thrill-seekers, Adventure Island is the perfect day out for all the family, and is located only a ten-minute walk away from our Event Essex accommodation and meeting spaces.

Sea Life Adventure Aquarium

Discover a fascinating underworld at the Southend Sea Life Adventure Aquarium, which features species from all over the globe. Learn more about creatures on display by attending an expert talk, watch a feeding session or enjoy some light refreshment at the on-site cafe. The aquarium is located less than a mile from our Event Essex accommodation and meeting spaces.

The Kursaal

Originally serving as the largest fairground in South England, the Kursaal building has recently undergone a multi-million pound redevelopment in order to continue its legacy as Southend’s centre of entertainment. Walk 15-minutes from our Event Essex accommodation and meeting spaces to enjoy the casino, bowling alley and arcade amusements that the Kursaal building has to offer.

Focal Point Gallery

Located within The Forum Southend-on-Sea, less than a two-minute walk away from Event Essex: accommodation, the Focal Point Gallery is south Essex’s gallery for contemporary visual art. The gallery showcases solo exhibitions, group and thematic shows, a programme of events including performances, film screenings and talks, as well as temporary public artworks.
