Our campus was chosen as a base for five teams for the event, providing a central hub for riders and support crews to rest, refuel, and prepare for the next stage of the race. It was an incredible experience to see the buzz of activity up close as these elite athletes and their teams transformed our space into their temporary home.
Behind the Scenes
Supporting an event of this scale takes careful coordination and teamwork. This project was managed by Ellie Giger, our new Event Coordinator, who successfully delivered her first major event with Event Essex and what an achievement it was!
It truly was a team effort across campus. From arranging accommodation to managing logistics and security, every detail mattered. We’d like to give a special mention to our Grounds and Estates teams, whose hard work and support helped ensure everything ran smoothly and the campus looked its absolute best.
The result? A seamless experience that allowed the cyclists and their support crews to focus on what they do best — competing at the highest level.

It was fantastic to see our campus come alive with the energy of the Tour of Britain. Hosting five elite teams showcased not only our excellent facilities but also the warm welcome and professionalism that define Event Essex.
